Keith has more than 20 years of international and domestic experience leading and growing technology, content and advertising companies. He previously held senior management positions at Exponential, Marketron, Electronic Arts and Disney Interactive, where each one of them experienced significant new growth and revenue levels under his leadership. Keith holds a BS in Business and BA in Psychology from Pepperdine University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
Michael Lee
Chief Science Officer
Michael has 30 years of experience in the technology industry, with a focus on electronics hardware and algorithm design for creating novel products. He previously held senior management positions as Technical Director of MBARI and Department Manager at HP Labs. Michael has extensive experience in creating innovative sensors and systems for a wide range of applications. Michael holds a BSEE from MIT and an MSEE from Stanford University.
Hans Lee
Chief Technology Officer
Hans leads EmSense’s technology creation team. He has brought emotion sensing technology from concept to product. By focusing on responding to customer needs with creative, robust, and scalable solutions, his team has built a mass-deployable platform that can deliver results to many markets. Hans has received awards nationally and internationally in science and engineering for the innovation and creation of novel technology. Hans holds a BS in Computer Science from MIT. While at MIT, his research at the Media Lab focused on emotion modeling and human/computer interaction, with specialization in enabling computers to better understand and respond to people's emotions.
W. Bryan Smith
Vice President, Neuroscience Research
Bryan has more than 18 years of Neuroscience research experience, with extensive expertise in electrophysiology, experimental design and data management, signal processing, and scientific team leadership. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California, and a PhD in Neuroscience from Caltech, where he was awarded the Ferguson Prize for most outstanding PhD thesis in 2004.
Elissa Moses
Chief Analytics Officer
Elissa is an industry leader in Market Research and Strategic Planning, with broad experience that includes Philips as SVP of Global Consumer Strategy and Intelligence, DMB&B as SVP, Head of Strategic Planning, Grey, as EVP, Managing Partner and The BrainWaves Group, as founder and Managing Partner. Throughout her career, Elissa has developed strategies for premiere companies such as Coca-Cola, P&G, AT&T, Gillette, Unilever, Kraft and Mars. She is the author of the primer on marketing to teenagers, The $100 Billion Allowance: Accessing the Global Teen Market, a frequent speaker at conferences and universities, past President of the Copy Research Council, and a reviewer for the Journal of Advertising Research.
Tim Hong
Senior Vice President, Product Development & Analytics
Tim manages operational processes at EmSense including fieldwork and client analytics, delivering insights that help Fortune 500 marketers and major game developers improve engagement and steer creative vision. Previously, Tim applied his expertise to companies such as Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan and IBM Research. Tim holds a dual BS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MS in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.
Kirk Hendrickson
Vice President, Operations
Kirk Hendrickson has 20+ years experience in technology with an emphasis on product management and market research. He has previously held management positions at MarketTools, C-COR (now part of Arris corporation), as well as FaceTime Communications and Aveo in their startup years. Kirk has extensive experience rapidly growing new technology products. Kirk holds an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business and both BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University.
Mark Mallardi
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Mark brings over 25 years of success in driving sales, profits and marketing innovation. A veteran of PepsiCo and Philip Morris, Mark also spent nearly a decade in research-based consulting with Fortune 100 Consumer Packaged Goods giants on behalf of Information Resources, Inc (IRI), most recently serving as Senior Vice President of Client Services and Western Regional Manager for IRI. His clients included Nestle, ConAgra, Mars, Dole, Clorox, Dial, Dreyer’s, Neutrogena, etc. Mark has extensive experience in speaking at conferences, universities, and Fortune 500 companies. He began his Market Research career with SPAR Group.
Jeff Kirkley

Jeff has 18 years of experience as a finance executive in the San Francisco area. Previously Jeff was Vice President of Finance for Compassoft, a software company acquired by Finsbury in 2009, for Striva Corporation, acquired by Informatica, and Fusion Medical Systems (IPO, then acquired by Baxter Scientific). Jeff’s experiences include fundraising, IPO, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, human resources and intellectual property. Jeff holds a B.S. Accounting from San Jose State University.

Senior Vice President, European Research Director
Sue brings 30 years of international experience spanning brand and product development, brand positioning, communication evaluation and market segmentation. She has conducted research in over 50 countries worldwide and speaks German and Spanish fluently. Sue’s focus is on delivering integrated insights to clients while expanding the company’s neurometric research offerings throughout Europe. Previously, Sue was Global Account Director and Global Insights Director at TNS, London and New York. Earlier, she held senior positions at NFO, MBL Group and the British Market Research Bureau. She has been a member of the ESOMAR Council for six years, currently serves as ESOMAR Vice President, and is a member of the British Market Research Society.
